Groundwork San Diego-Chollas Creek Receives $1,500 Conservation Science Grant from PBSJ

Groundwork San Diego recently received a $1,500 grant from PBSJ, an Atkins company, which will help fund conservation science experiments at the Earth Lab at Millennial Tech Middle School (MTM) in Southeast San Diego. At the Earth Lab, students get hands-on learning experiences related to conservation science and most recently have started to cultivate cacti, a home for many native species.
MTM is a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) school in Southeat San Diego that has paired with Groundwork San Diego-Chollas Creek to learn more about native species and to improve the quality of the habitat in which these species thrive.
Founded in 2007, Groundwork San Diego-Chollas Creek works in partnership with the City of San Diego and the Chollas Creek communities of Southeastern San Diego to improve the environment, economy and quality of life in the region.
PBSJ, an Atkins company, was founded in 1960 and is one of America's leading providers of engineering, planning, architecture, construction, environmental, and program management services.
